MATANEWS, Subang – Kyai H. Satibi SP.i, M.M., Chairman of PCNU Subang Regency, announced a strategic collaboration with the Human Resource Development (HRD) training institution established by Galuh Pakuan Subang. The initiative aims to prepare a skilled local workforce to support the development of Subang Smart Politan, with the BYD electric vehicle manufacturing project set to require approximately 18,000 employees.
This partnership will focus on enhancing technological knowledge, skills across various sectors, and proficiency in foreign languages, including Mandarin. The goal is to equip Subang residents with the competencies needed to meet global standards required by BYD.
“We see a tremendous opportunity for Subang’s community with the arrival of BYD. Through this collaboration, we aim to ensure that local residents directly benefit from this development, particularly in terms of technology and language skills,” said Kyai H. Satibi during an event at Karaton Galuh Pakuan Subang on Sunday (12/1/2025).

The collaboration has received full support from various parties, including the Subang local government. Rahyang Mandalajati Evi Silviadi Sangga Buana, the King of the Galuh Pakuan Adat Institution and Mustasyar of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Subang Regency, expressed his approval. Through the Duta Laksana Girang Harta, Dewi Kandiati Paramesty Tine Yowargana B.A., B.E., M.H., Galuh Pakuan has prepared educational tools and experts to support training programs, particularly for Subang residents.
“We are committed to equipping Subang’s community with skills tailored to meet current needs. This training program is designed to develop local potential while adhering to international standards,” said Tine Yowargana.
Tine has also engaged in multiple meetings with local government officials, academic institutions, and community organizations to ensure effective synergy in implementing the training and HRD program.
“Our focus extends beyond technical training to comprehensive community empowerment. With this initiative, we aim to prepare Subang residents to compete effectively in the global workforce,” Tine added.
During discussions, PCNU and Galuh Pakuan emphasized the importance of BYD prioritizing local Subang residents in their recruitment process. This is seen as a critical step in ensuring that the positive impacts of industrial development are felt directly by the community.
“We hope BYD will prioritize empowering the local community. With the training and facilities we provide, there should be no reason to seek workers from outside Subang,” stressed Kyai Satibi.
The planned HRD training program includes a curriculum centered on modern industrial technologies and Mandarin language lessons to facilitate communication with BYD representatives. Additionally, the program will cover interpersonal skills development, work productivity, and industry-specific knowledge.
“This program is expected to produce professional and competent workers who are ready to thrive in a global industry like BYD,” Tine explained.
This collaboration is anticipated to become a model for successful synergy between cultural institutions, community organizations, and the industrial sector in creating job opportunities for local residents.
“We aim to make this initiative the starting point for Subang’s rise as one of Indonesia's leading industrial regions,” concluded Kyai Satibi.
With a robust HRD training program and the involvement of various stakeholders, BYD's presence in Subang is expected not only to create job opportunities but also significantly improve the welfare of the local community. (Wly)
